CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure v1.0 Course Overview

The achievement of CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure certification proves your expertise with complex enterprise infrastructure solutions. Learn how to design, plan deploy, maintain optimizing dual-stack solutions (IPv4 as well as IPv6) for large-scale enterprise networks. To obtain CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure, need to pass two tests one of which is a qualification exam covering the most important technologies for enterprise infrastructure, and an exam in the lab that covers enterprise networks over all phases of network life beginning with designing and deploying to managing and optimizing.

The 8-hour practice test will measure the ability of the candidate throughout the process of creating the network, deploying it, operating and optimizing networking scenarios.

The test consists of two modules that are set in time and are delivered in a predetermined sequence:

  • Module 1: Design (3 hours)

  • Module 2: Deploy, Operate and Optimize (5 hours)

Automation and Network Programmability skills in accordance with Exam Topics are an integral component of both of the modules.

Candidates will be assessed on various solutions and technologies identified on Exam Topics. Exam Topics throughout both modules. Although the two modules are separate from one another, they share an evolving storyline that will be developed throughout the entire eight hours of laboratory exam. Candidates won't be able to switch back and forth between different modules.

Module 1 Concept (3 hours)

The aim of this module is to assess the ability to design an analysis, analyze, validate and improve network designs, which form the foundation for the entire deployment process. Candidates will be required to:

  • Learn about the capabilities of various technologies Solutions, solutions and services.

  • Transform customer needs into solutions.

  • Determine readiness to back suggested solutions.

The course is scenario-based and with no access to any device. Candidates will receive the necessary documentation to be able to identify before answering questions on the web.

Examples of documentation are emails, high-level designs, diagrams of network topology, customers' requirements and limitations and restrictions, etc. Examples of web-based items include Drag-and-Drop, Multiple-Choice-Single-Answer, Multiple-Choice-Multiple-Answer, Dropdown items, etc.

In this module, navigation backwards will be turned off. Therefore, the candidates won't have complete access to all the questions in this module. Points value(s) that are associated with the item in question are not shown in this module.

Module 2 Deploy, Operate as well as Optimize (5 hours)

In this module, the candidates will deploy, operate and optimize network technology and solutions.

  • Deploy The candidates will construct the network in accordance with specifications for the design, customer requirements and constraints. Every step required for the successful implementation of a network is covered which includes setting up, integrating and troubleshooting the commissioning of the technologies and solutions, in accordance with Exam Topics.

  • Operate and optimize Candidates will operate and optimize the network technology and solutions. This includes monitoring the health of networks as well as network performance. They will also configure the network in order to increase the quality of service, minimize interruptions, reduce outages, cut operating costs, and keep reliable, high-availability and security. Additionally, they will identify potential problems and modify configurations to adapt to changes in objectives of the business and/or technical needs.

This module will provide a set-up which is very similar to a real production network environment . It includes the hands-on (device access) and web-based components. If feasible, a virtualized lab environment is used for this program. Refer to the software and equipment list for more information.

When this module is enabled, backward navigation is enabled.

Candidates will have complete visibility of all the questions that are included in this module. Points value(s) that are associated with each item will be displayed in this module.

Documentation

Cisco documentation is available online during the exam through Cisco's Products Pages. Any document that can be accessible (when you are not logged in) can be accessed during the test. Be aware that this site is Cisco hosted and access could be restricted or even unavailable at times due to system updates (or for any other reason). Candidates are not permitted to bring any other source material to the laboratory.

Exam Score Evaluation and Reports

Each module is assigned an upper and lower pass score. Both pass and minimum scores are calculated on a module-by-module basis that is based on exam difficulty.

  • The score for passing corresponds to the level of expertise.

  • Minimum score refers to the minimum scores that is expected from an expert-level candidate.

To pass the test Candidates must achieve a higher score than the total passing score of each module and also score more than the minimum score that is set for each of the modules separately.

If the candidates score less than the total averaged score of the two modules or fail to score the minimum score for the 1 (or or) of the module, the candidates will be disqualified from the exam.

After passing the test Candidates are not provided with any additional score information.

Candidates who fail the exam are given scores, which will indicate the module(s) they were able to pass or fail. Candidates will also be given scores for the cumulative score on a per domain basis, for both of the modules.
